For these applications, the thermal requirements are different from those of professional industrial or laboratory equipment. The objective is usually not maximum temperature difference, but rather practical cooling capacity, compact integration and reliable temperature control.

The CXTECH TEC1-12705 is designed for this type of consumer application. According to its specification, the module provides a Qmax of 48 W at Th=27°C and 53.82 W at Th=50°C, with a maximum temperature difference of ≥62°C and ≥72°C, respectively. It uses Al₂O₃ ceramic substrates on both sides and is specified for a consumption/consumer application.
